I had really run out of ideas for Future Cynic at this point. There seemed to be only a handful of technology and pop culture jokes I could make. All the new ideas I had were more or less retreads of older jokes so rather than just re-writing the same jokes – I retired the series.

I read an article saying bananas would be extinct in 15 years or something. Anyway, that’s where the idea for them being more valuable than diamonds came from.

I like the idea of Shaquille O’Neal being preserved as a cyborg and eventually leading the human race. It makes a lot of sense.

Future Cynic was a simple concept where someone in the distant future complained about the everyday problems of living in his time period. This idea actually landed me a writing job on a comedy blog that never saw the light of day. I was supposed to be paid! Never happened!
