A garbage man buried deep within the doldrums of reality is presented with a gift from two neighborhood children. After soaring with excitement at this sudden recognition he quickly loses their favor by absent-mindedly trashing their street. Their true gift, however, might be more than he previously imagined… I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this short film a reality. It was initially supposed to be a cartoon starring a character named “Dr. Dumpster” but the project was scrapped [...]
Biggie Smalls is my favorite rapper of all time and this is a fun tribute to his incredibly vivid lyrics and storytelling ability. It’s an homage to his classic hit “Juicy” as told through the eyes of an elderly man.
The Journey of Merrill was written by Kevin Lieber as a side-project to be filmed during breaks in his senior capstone drama class in 2006. However, after realizing their drama project was a failure and Director of Photography Keith Carlson having been fired — Kevin walked off the set and never returned. Keith contacted Kevin after having a meeting with their professor and the two decided to make Merrill an official school project. Kevin and Keith then brought in Casey [...]
The second Biggie Smalls parody – set in 1920′s gangster slang. The footage for the video comes from episodes of Dick Tracy, Gang Busters and Martin Kane. Feel free to look up any of the words online – there are plenty of websites dedicated to mobster slang.
Rare footage of the legendary hobo – Dancing Dirk. My friend Kris miraculously caught this footage of the man with only one pinky while working the door at the infamous Dixie Tavern in Portland, OR. Double Pinkies Up!!!!
This is an homage to The Notorious B.I.G.’s classic track “Gimme The Loot” set in medieval times. Ready To Die is my favorite hip hop album of all time and I wanted to prove how versatile and brilliant Biggie’s raps and storytelling abilities were. The lyrics are translated into Medieval slang as best I could manage. The video clips are from various episodes of The Adventures of Robin Hood and a Robin Hood film from 1922.
I took a class at the local cable access TV station in Portland, Oregon. I wanted to make my own TV Show. Unfortunately that required leaving the house so it never happened. Anyway, we had to do a biographical project and the day of the shoot – the girl who was to be the focus of the video never showed up. So at the last moment the spotlight was turned on me because the group leader thought my interest in [...]
